Hello! I’m Jaimie. Thanks for taking the time to learn a bit about me.

I’ve had my hands in many creative projects over the years, both personally and professionally. I started my career in corporate communications and worked in a wide range of freelance and self-made businesses while raising my three children. During the pandemic, I dedicated myself to visual arts by honing my oil painting skills, working as the marketing coordinator for the Virginia Beach Art Center, and subbing for art teachers with VB public schools. I made the leap into full-time art teacher in 2024, when I started working as an art educator for juvenile detention centers - a job I love.

I am a figurative oil painter with a focus on portraits. I’m in love with people, and I feel compelled to draw and paint portraits with all of our human complexities, stories, and emotions just below the surface. Two of my paintings were shown in the Made in VA exhibit at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art in 2022-2023, and two more will be shown in the upcoming exhibition, Where We Meet.

I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia, a tourist city sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay, with my three incredible children, two sorta-friendly cats and a goofy labradoodle.

The best way to get to know my work is to check out my portfolio of professional and personal projects.

Thanks for being here!
